Sarah D. and Aine P, two long-time Art Workshop students who are now high school freshmen, return to the AW classroom to help design the two canvas mural project celebrating the 150 history of Immaculate Conception parish.
Both artists attended last Friday’s opening day session of Fall Art Workshop and sat alongside the younger artists, as they created quick 15 minute sketches on location in the church.
By the end of the class period, the girls had a design in mind. The next step involves measuring, calculating, taping off and preparing the canvases, so that Fall AW students and Young at Art artists can design their portion of the combined work.
The finished piece will be 8’ x 6’ and will be hung in the second floor rear stairwell of the school building.
